Privacy Policy

The Idaho Veteran Business Directory ("the directory") is operated by the Veteran Entrepreneur Alliance ("VEA," "we," "us"), an Idaho 501(c)(3) nonprofit. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and password. Your password is stored securely and we cannot see it. You may also add a phone number in your account settings.

Listing information. When you create or edit a listing, we collect the business details you provide, including your business name, descriptions, category, location, contact information, website, social media links, certifications, and photos.

Reports. If you report an issue with a listing, we collect your name, email address, and message.

Technical information. Our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser type, and the pages you request. This is used to keep the site running and secure.

What is public

Listings are public once approved. Anything you enter in your listing's public fields, including your business name, descriptions, photos, phone number, public email, website, social links, city, and county, can be seen by anyone who visits the directory, and can appear in search engines. Your street address is only shown if you choose to show it. Your account email and phone number are never shown publicly unless you also enter them in your listing's public contact fields.

How we use your information

• To run the directory and display approved listings.
• To review listings and confirm VEA membership.
• To send you emails about your account and listing, such as confirmations, password resets, and review decisions.
• To respond to reports and questions.
• To keep the site secure and prevent abuse.

We do not sell your information. We do not share it with advertisers.

Service providers

We use trusted providers to operate the directory:

• Lovable Cloud hosts the website and stores the directory's data.
• Resend delivers emails sent by the directory.

These providers only use your information to provide their services to us.

We may also share information if required by law, or to protect the safety of our members or the public.

Cookies and local storage

The directory uses cookies and your browser's local storage to keep you signed in and to remember simple preferences, such as grid or list view. We do not use advertising cookies.

How long we keep information

We keep account and listing information while your account is active. If you ask us to delete your account, we will delete your account and listing, except for records we need to keep for security, legal, or audit purposes, such as the history of review decisions.

Your choices

• You can edit your listing and account information anytime by signing in.
• You can ask us to unpublish your listing or delete your account by emailing admin@vealliance.org.
• You can ask us what information we hold about you.

Children

The directory is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. When we do, we will change the date at the top of this page. If the changes are significant, we will notify members by email.
